CoastCue policies

Terms

Effective August 5, 2026

These terms apply to the CoastCue website, interest list, support service, and Android app. By using CoastCue, you agree to use it responsibly and only for lawful purposes.

Planning information, not a guarantee

Fishing outlooks are planning estimates based on conditions such as tide movement, wind, weather, daylight, moon timing, and available water observations. They do not predict fish presence, promise a catch, or guarantee that a location is safe or accessible.

Not for navigation or life-safety decisions

CoastCue is not a navigation system, emergency service, or substitute for official marine forecasts, warnings, local rules, or on-site judgment. Conditions can change quickly. Always check official sources and make your own safety decisions before going on or near the water.

Data sources and availability

CoastCue uses information from sources including NOAA CO-OPS, the National Weather Service, and the National Data Buoy Center. Data may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, saved, or affected by station and network outages. Offshore buoy observations are context rather than shoreline measurements. The app labels observed, predicted, forecast, estimated, stale, and saved information so you can understand what you are viewing.

Free access and CoastCue Pro

Core conditions, the first three planner days, NOAA currents where local coverage exists, and live water-level corrections where NOAA provides a sensor are available without a CoastCue Pro entitlement. CoastCue Pro includes all seven planner days, the monthly tide planner, trip alerts, and My Spots. The intended United States options are a $24.99 annual list price with a $14.99 founding first year and a $49 one-time lifetime purchase. Google Play displays the authoritative price and eligibility before purchase.

Purchases, cancellation, and restore

Google Play displays the applicable price and offer terms before purchase and processes payment. The annual subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled through Google Play. The public lifetime option is a one-time purchase and does not renew. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play and use the app's Restore purchases action with the same Google Play account after reinstalling or changing devices. Refund and billing requests are handled under Google Play's policies.

Closed-tester access

Approved closed testers may receive a one-time Google Play code for a non-consumable product that grants permanent CoastCue Pro access to the redeeming Play account. Tester codes are not a public sale, are not transferable for value, and must be redeemed within the promotion window. Restoring tester access requires the same Google Play account.

Release status

CoastCue is publicly available for Android through Google Play. The Google Play listing and purchase sheet are authoritative for device and regional availability, price, introductory eligibility, one-time purchase terms, and renewal terms offered to a particular account.

Acceptable use

You may not interfere with the website or app, attempt unauthorized access, send abusive or unlawful support messages, automate excessive requests, or use CoastCue in a way that harms the service or other people.

Intellectual property

CoastCue names, logos, interface designs, and original content belong to their respective owner. NOAA and NWS data and names remain subject to the terms and attribution requirements of those agencies.

Service changes

We may improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue part of the service. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes that affect interest-list members, closed testers, or released app features.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, CoastCue is provided as available and without guarantees of uninterrupted operation or particular fishing results. You remain responsible for travel, boating, weather, fishing, and safety decisions.
